Approached this guy Robert Montgomery (also runs his business in the name of thistle roofing In Kirkcaldy) for his lowest quote. I thought I needed a roof replacement as it was quite old. 1) After stripping off the old roof started demanding for money before the job is complete. A good tradesman would never do this. 2) Took six months and still couldn’t complete the job 3) Would come up with random excuses( van broke down, loved ones admitted to hospital, loved ones died, bad weather etc) and would only show up on the dates of his convenience 4) Quote exceeded 20% from the agreed quote after starting the job 5) Swears at work and does care customer satisfaction 6) Left with heavily leaking roof that I’m having to approach trading standards and other professional roofers to fix. 7) He would use unqualified/inexperienced roofers and would barely spend time at the site himself 8) Lawn unusable due to thousands of nails thrown away during work. 9) Garden plants walked over.

I needed to get a leak fixed and new gutter fitted. New felt was put down and the tiles relaid but there were still some gaps and the leak started up again. The new gutter was put on alright. There was also pointing done on the ridge tiles which was ok. Tried to get the roofer to return when leak started up again but eventually decided to find a different roofer although when I explained I was getting someone else the roofer I had used said he would come over. I decided I would just try someone else by that time. They showed me pictures and said there were gaps and folds in the felt that needed to be fixed. So all in all it could have been a bit better. Fixing roofs is quite tricky.

Came right away and did a fair job.

Robert came out and sorted problem good workman will get him back to put new gutter on my garage would recommend him and good price.

Done a fantastic job arrived when they said very polite, would recommend.

Arrived on time and carried out the work efficiently with no mess.

Very helpful and pleasant people who did an efficient and competent job. Gave helpful advice and information for a more permanent solution.

Prompt in answering initial e-mail . Received a quote next day , Work completed the following day . Nothing was a problem , and very helpful in getting the problem fixed .So far no water coming in my living room ceiling and it has been raining for the past 3 hours . Would definitely use this company again
